Do you want to know something terrifying? There is only one more weekend before X-Mas. That’s right, if you haven’t done your shopping, non-work hours are getting slimmer and slimmer. That’s where we step in with some recommendations of products we have used and tested this year that may inspire your next present.
The low budget option:
Bondi Sands sunscreen
The rest of the list is going to be technology, games, etc. That stuff is expensive. If you want to get someone something they need, and Kiwi’s bloody need it, it’s sun screen. I have been using Bondi Sands as the bottles are nice and thin making them perfect for hiking packs, and the tan sun screen is perfect for someone that wants to add a little colour without the thick makeup.
The options for lighting up the whare
WiZ Smart Fairy Lights 20m

We checked out the WiZ Smart Fairy Lights last year, but it’s as good an option as every for X-Mas. If you’re headed to a house without the X-Mas vibes, this is a fast way to give a great present and make your X-Mas day better! Win Win!
Philips Hue Twilight Bedside Lamp

Blair checked out the Philips Hue Twilight Bedside Lamp and I can confirm he was very sad sending it back. It may not be cheap but it is bloody cool and works so well!
WiZ Neon Flex Light Strip 5m

The WiZ Neon Flex Light Strip 5m is a great way to give someone creative lighting in their house. They can make fun shapes, watch them light up, and add vibes to the room. So fun, so cool!
The options for Gamers:
Games!
Are you surprised we like receiving games at YNG? Well here are some of the hits we liked this year:
Cladun X3

Matt checked out Cladun X3 and said it’s “an easy recommendation for both longtime fans and for newcomers—of which there’ll probably be a few, now that a Cladun game has finally come to the ever-popular Nintendo Switch.”. So if someone you love is into Dungeon Crawlers, they should be happy to check this one out!
Donkey Kong Bananza or the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC

Arman checked out Donkey Kong Bananza and said “Donkey Kong Bananza is easily one of my favourite games of the decade.” Do you need more of a recommendation than that? Any Nintendo fans that don’t own this one should be delighted to unwrap this gem.
Hades II

Matt said Hades II is “everything you liked about Hades, but bigger, better, more.” Any fans of Hades II would be stoked to check this one out!
Battlefield 6

Maybe your loved one is more about the pew pews. Well Keith checked out Battlefield 6 and he summarised it as “While it stumbles in places, Battlefield 6 is one such game. It is pure, simple, legible fun. And that’s enough.”. Pew pew fans would be happy with some simple legible fun!
Ghost of Yōtei

Xenojay checked out Ghost of Yōtei and he rather liked it. I mean he said “Sucker Punch Productions deliver once again, continuing their heritage of brilliant games. From Sly Raccoon, through to their new hero Atsu, they stand tall as one of the many powerhouse studios that fall under PlayStation. And they love reminding you just how good single player games can be.”. I’m sure you whānau will like it too.
Gaming Tech!
Maybe your loved ones have all the games, but want to enjoy them more! Well here are some bits of kit we have checked out this year!
Logitech G321 Headset

Blair checked out the Logitech G321 Headset this year and in the $150 price range “it would be hard to look past it as it looks great, has a lot of functionality, and is comfortable when worn for long stretches.”. so if that is your budget you could make a very happy gamer.
Logitech G522 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset

If your budget is a little higher, then maybe the Logitech G522 is what you are looking for. When Blair checked it out he noted “The sound quality and mic quality alone make it a banger; the additional style and comfort make it a fantastic purchase”. You would make someone very happy with this one!
Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID Keyboard

Blair checked out the Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID and said it “is a fantastic keyboard for the price. If you are looking for something with the heft and feel of mechanical keys, but with that dope ability to customise the sensitivity, this one is a no-brainer.”
The options for cardboard addicts
We have continued our love of TCG’s this year. I don’t have a problem, I can stop at any time… when is Lorwyn Eclipsed and Spiritforged coming out? Seriously, I don’t have a problem….
Magic: The Gathering

We have been checking out, and loving, a lot of the Magic: The Gathering sets! If you can get a good price on a Bundle then that would make any Magic fan happy.
We do recommend the Avatar Bundle, Avatar Commander Bundle, and even the Spidey Bundles!
Lorcana

Disney TCG fans rejoice. This game keeps going from strength to strength and I keep having fun playing this game. An Elsa Gift Set or a Treasure Trove gives heaps of fun ripping packs!
Riftbound

If your whānau likes TCG and League of Legends but haven’t checked this out, then a Champions deck is a reasonably priced and easy way to get into the game. And if you don’t like LoL, it’s still a damn fun game.
Speaker Goodness
JBL Grip

We are checking out the JBL Grip right now, the review will be live tjos week. I will say in advance, it’s a banger. For $150 this is a fantastic portable speaker!
Harman/Kardon Go + Play 3 Speaker

We checked out the Harman/Kardon Go + Play 3 Speaker and while it isn’t cheap, and isn’t feature loaded, what it does is produce amazing sound. So if you need a speaker to be a speaker, anyone would be delighted to receive this for X-Mas.
JBL Flip 7

When Blair checked out the JBL Flip 7 he summed his thoughts up as “At $200, this little beast is hitting way above its belt. The size and travel aspects of the speaker make this an absolute banger that I can see heaps of ways it can be used. The sound is exceptional given the size and price. Easy to use, great to listen to – what more are you looking for?” So if your whānau likes being out and about, either the Flip 7 or the Grip would set them up for sounds!
