The Fall in Love visual novel festival on Steam is back for another year this year, running from 1 to 9 September. Hosted by Studio Elan (the developer behind the likes of Highway Blossoms, Heart of the Woods, and Please Be Happy) the festival will feature hundreds of visual novels with discounts, demos, and streams aplenty.
The Fall in Love festival is all about romance-themed games (hence the name), but that’s a broad genre in itself, with everything from rom coms to gothic horror in the mix. Across just a handful of included games I’ve looked at, I’ve seen a comedy otome game about a girl cursed to drop the worst dad jokes ever (Jest Messters), a psychological horror about a dystopian company that serves mermaids as food (Mermaids are Seafood), a romance game mixed with medieval resource management and political intrigue (Imperial Grace), a slow-burn horror about ending a demonic pact (DEVIL’S LIMINAL), and an interactive comic with rotoscoped dance sequences (After the Wane). So, yeah, there’s something for everyone.
As part of the festival, Studio Elan will also be hosting their Fall in Love Visual Novel Festival Showcase on Twitch at 7am Friday, 4 September (NZT). This livestream will showcase a handful of different trailers for games featured in the festival. We’ll also be covering a few highlights over the course of the festival here at Yeah Nah Gaming.
