The METRO saga has returned to consoles with a new lick of pain. That’s thanks to the METRO Redux Next-Gen Update that has launched on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Existing owners of METRO 2033 Redux and METRO Last Light Redux can upgrade free of charge, with the update already available on PC via Steam, Windows, Epic Games Store and GoG.
The update boasts true 4K at 60FPS and upscaled 4K at 120FPS, as well as a host of visual upgrades, performance enhancements and platform-specific improvements. The update modernises both acclaimed titles for current hardware, offering players the definitive way to experience the origins of the METRO saga ahead of the launch of the next chapter, METRO 2039 on 5th February 2027.
For long-time fans, the Next-Gen Update offers the perfect opportunity to revisit one of gaming’s most celebrated narrative-driven FPS franchises, while offering the perfect starting point for newcomers to experience the world, characters, and events that defined the series before embarking on the next chapter as The Stranger in METRO 2039.
