Cult of the Lamb‘s developers Massive Monster have announced the game’s next expansion, Woolhaven. The winter-themed expansion comes to PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 22 January 2026.
Picking up where the main story finished, Woolhaven sends you on a new adventure to the ancestral home of the Lambs, where Yngya, the God of Winter, has covered the land in frost and snow. That will make keeping your flock safe, warm, fed, and watered more challenging than ever, but also potentially more rewarding. Expect new buildings, characters, weapons, quests, dungeons, and game systems (like ranching!)
Alongside the release date announcement, Massive Monster also shared a “Mid-Winter Showcase” video, offering an in-depth look at Woolhaven’s new story, characters, and features as well as reflections from the development team.
Cult of the Lamb came out in 2022, finding critical acclaim for its cute yet macabre aesthetic and its clever mix of roguelike dungeon crawler and cult leadership sim. A handful of free updates have come out since then, as well as an album of metal arrangements of the game’s soundtrack and various fan events.
Woolhaven has been in development for the past two years, and is a full-fledged, paid expansion rather than a free update. It’s available to pre-order on Steam for $24.99; prices on other platforms are still to be confirmed.
