Ever wondered what it would be like to be a cute li’l pup wreaking absolute mayhem across your human’s house while they’re out? I’m guessing the answer is probably “no”, but if that sounds like fun all the same, then Bandai Namco Studios has something to look forward to. Doronko Wanko, a “casual-yet-mischievous mess-making canine adventure game”, is making its way to Nintendo Switch on July 23.
Rather than trying to paraphrase a press release, I’m just going to copy-paste the Steam description for this game, because it’s a work of art in itself:
“Doronko Wanko is a DORONKO Action Game. In this game, You can become a cute, innocent Pomeranian, make your master’s home messy and dirty. “Will the master be angry with me?” Don’t worry. Because you are a sweet doggie.”
Be a cute pup and run around the house spreading mud and paint everywhere. Use toys and household appliances to help really crank up the mischief. So it’s a reverse Power Wash Simulator, essentially… maybe there’s crossover potential there. There are also silly hats to collect (of course) and hidden, uh, “good smell rooms” to find.
“Everyone wants to escape reality and cause a little chaos sometimes! Doronko Wanko‘s easy pickup-and-play-as-a-puppy nature is a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch’s portability,” says publisher Phoenixx Inc. “We look forward to welcoming even more dog lovers of all ages looking to let loose on the go!”
Doronko Wanko is already available on Steam as a free title (actually free, not “free-to-play”). The Switch will cost USD $4.99 (local pricing is TBC), but it adds five more playable dog breeds: Corgi, Toy Poodle, Bulldog, Shiba Inu, and Jack Russel. They’ll also be available on Steam as paid DLC.
