Aussie independent developer Weforge Studio today announced the official Steam Early Access release date for its co-op stealth extraction horror game Macabre. The game will launch globally on 29 September 2025 on Steam, accompanied by a new trailer that reveals the date and showcases its tense, procedural survival gameplay.
Set inside a collapsing time rift, Macabre pits players against an adaptive interdimensional terror that learns from their actions. Guided by the enigmatic NPC Banjo, players scavenge, sneak, and fight to survive in an unstable dimension where every session unfolds differently. Procedural maps, shifting objectives, and high-stakes co-operative extraction ensure replayability, tension, and betrayal at every turn.
Macabre has already amassed 250,000 wishlists on Steam. During the recent Steam Next Fest, the demo ranked in the Top 50 most played titles, reinforcing the game’s momentum ahead of its Early Access release.
Early Access features include:
- Explore volatile procedural maps where environments and threats change every run
- Squad up with up to four players, or face the Rift alone in solo play
- Loot, scavenge, and extract rare resources before the Rift collapses
- Outsmart the Crawler, a relentless predator that adapts to your tactics
- Brave dynamic weather and monster behaviours that keep every encounter fresh
- Progress through Rift timelines by completing Banjo’s objectives
