Magic: The Gathering Tarkir: Dragonstorm is releasing on the 11th of April. Yea, that’s 3 weeks away.

Well now information is dropping hot and fast all over the internet!

    Check out the debut here:

    And a longer breakdown:

Feeling the hype yet? You should be!

So what’s coming to keep an eye on?

The lands are a massive deal. Fetch lands are coming in as special guests. This is going to be interesting in limited but is great for some older constructed formats.

The rare lands in the set appear to be some solid utility lands. These could make some MASSIVE changes to standard!

Then the full art lands. There are normal full art lands with some cool dragon shadows, and even better there are some cool dragon eye ones with the mana symbols that look AMAZING. The dragon eye ones are just in collector boosters, so I’ll have to pick some of them up!

    And mechanics?

Here is a quick summary of what you need to know for pre-release! A bunch of the mechanics are “clan specific” in that they appear on the colours of the clan.

    Abzan has Endure

This mechanic triggers when a nontoken creature you control dies.

    Jeskai has Flurry

This mechanic triggers whenever you cast your second spell in a turn.

    Sultai has Renew

This mechanic let’s you use abilities that can be used from the graveyard.

    Mardu has Mobilize

This mechanic creates temporary creature tokens that enter the battlefield tapped and attacking.

    Temur has Harmonize

This mechanic allows you to cast spells from your graveyard for their harmonize cost.

Then there are Omen and Behold:

    Omen:

This mechanic allows you to play a creature spell as an instant for a reduced mana cost.

when used as an instant, after resolution, the card is shuffled into the players library.

    Behold:

This mechanic triggers when you reveal a Dragon from your hand or control one on the battlefield.

    It often generates Treasure tokens.

Oh there are also 2 insanely powerful Planeswalkers:

I’m so frickin amped for this set!
