Need something new to scratch that monster-collecting itch? Ilmfinity Studios’ EvoCreo is now available on PC and Mac via Steam, giving players a new world to explore and over 170 monsters to catch, train, battle, and collect.
EvoCreo casts players as Evokers on a quest to become Evoking Masters by catching monsters called Creo and building a powerful team for Creo-on-Creo battles. If that sounds a little (or more than a little) like Pokemon, that’s because EvoCreo is “both inspired by and building upon the foundation of beloved genre greats,” and it wears that inspiration on its sleeve in its Game Boy Advance-esque art style and a lot of core game design elements.
That said, it does aim to carve its own niche with a tactical battle system offering “much more to consider beyond elemental advantages.” Creo traits, abilities, types, status effects, move cooldowns, and multiple evolutionary paths are all key factors in team building and battle strategy. The game also promises a rich story with branching dialogue, quests, and a vast world to explore, and there are plans to add online PVP battles in the near future.
“As a monster-taming fan myself, I wanted to add the features I always dreamed of with EvoCreo, and it resonated beyond my expectations,” said Ebrahim Behbahani, Founder at Ilmfinity. “I look forward to seeing players on a whole new platform get the chance to explore the world of Zenith!”
EvoCreo originally came out for mobile in 2015, and it’s been downloaded more than 2.5 million times in the decade since. While the mobile version was a free download with in-game microtransactions, the Steam release is a one-off purchase (NZD $14.75) with all content from the mobile version included, and all microtransaction items now available from in-game vendors. There’s also a free demo if you want to try it out before buying.
A sequel, EvoCreo 2, came out on mobile last year. It’s also getting a Steam release in Q1 2026, although no date has been set at this stage.
