New Civilization VII trailer shows of Switch 2 features

With the Nintendo Switch 2 very nearly almost upon us, Firaxis has released a new trailer for Civilization VII showcasing features for the Switch 2 edition.

The most notable difference is the option to play with Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, creating a play experience that’s closer to Civilization‘s PC roots. Civilization VII actually plays quite nicely with a controller, but there’s a certain purist authenticity to playing a 4X game with a mouse, and Switch 2 opens that door.

Other perks for Switch 2 players include improved graphics and performance (compared to the Switch version), multiplayer for up to eight players, and Game Chat support.

Civilization VII: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches on June 5, the same day as the new console, available both as a standalone release or using a $17.95 upgrade pack for the Switch version. Civilization VII came out earlier this year for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series, and Nintendo Switch.
