Nintendo will host its latest Nintendo Direct in the early hours of Friday morning (NZ time), with a focus on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 titles from third-party publishers. The Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase starts at 1am on Friday, 1 August (NZST), and will run for approximately 25 minutes.
You can watch the direct embedded below, as well as on the NintendoAU YouTube channel or the Nintendo Direct website.
With some 13 hours to go at the time of writing, the wait for this Direct won’t be a long one, but there’s still ample time to speculate about what games might fill those 25 minutes. Release dates for previously-announced games seem like a safe bet, as do some new reveals from frequent Nintendo partners like Square Enix. These things almost always have a shadow drop or two, so hopefully that’s the case this time, too.
My guesses—purely from speculation, no insider information: release dates for Hades II, Witchbrook, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an announcement of PowerWash Simulator 2 for Switch 2 (after it was previously “announced” and then recalled), some more ports of Microsoft first-party titles (Flight Simulator 2024, please), and perhaps that long-rumoured Final Fantasy IX remake.
