The long-rumoured Persona 4 remake was finally announced this morning at the Xbox Games Showcase, with title Persona 4 Revival. There’s not much to see beyond a teaser trailer with a brief glimpse of the remade Inaba town and a “coming soon”, but it’s an official confirmation nonetheless.
Persona 4 originally launched in 2008 for PlayStation 2, before getting a remaster for PS Vita in the form of Persona 4: Golden. That remaster was later ported to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. It’s found widespread acclaim across all its releases for it’s compelling, psychologically-charged story, social commentary, rich RPG systems, killer soundtrack, and sense of visual style.
From what little we’ve seen so far, Persona 4 Revival looks to capture that same flair but in a higher-definition form, much like Persona 3 Reload did for Persona 3. Revival is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch day.
