Want to take the latest Tekken for a few rounds before its launch next month? There’s a free Tekken 8 demo available now on PlayStation 5, and heading to PC and Xbox Series X|S on December 21.
The demo includes several game modes:
- Story: “The Dark Awakens” (Chapter 1) – Tekken 8 main story
- Arcade Quest (Chapter 1) – a new single player story mode about Tekken players rising through the arcade ranks
- Super Ghost Battle – fight against AI that learns from ghost data of players
- Versus
- Gallery, with several cutscenes recapping the cutscenes of earlier Tekken games
For Arcade Quest, Super Ghost Battle, and Versus, there are four playable characters to choose from: Jin, Kazuya, Paul, and Nina. The available chapter of Story Mode puts you in Jin’s shoes, but you also get a little taste of Devil Jin.
Alongside the demo, Bandai Namco also released a new story trailer for Tekken 8, offering a look at a world in chaos following Heihachi’s defeat and Kazuya wreaking havoc.
Tekken 8 launches 26 January 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s available to preorder now, with various different editions.
