You can now have The Grinch respond to guests through your Ring Video Doorbell

‘Tis definitely not the season to be jolly, especially when certain holiday guests have you feeling your Grinch-iest.

The crew at Ring understands that, which is why they have launched a series of Grinch Quick Replies for video doorbells. Finally you can go back to having a nap.

The greetings are now available through the holidays alongside Wondery’s new original hit podcast ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast starring James Austin Johnson (“Saturday Night Live”) as The Grinch, who also voices the Ring Quick Replies.

Whether you’re enjoying some hard-earned peace and quiet or dressing your dog like a reindeer, The Grinch is ready to greet your guests with responses like:

    • When all you really want is some alone time: Listen Here
“Huh? A Visitor? To THIS house? MAX! Should I scare them away? (Dog Barks) Ughhh fine…. you’re no fun. They’ll be right there.”
    • When you’ve taken on an impossible task: Listen Here
“Oh thank goodness. They’re trying to make me sing songs and bake cookies in there. Me! The Grinch! But now that you’re here—you can do it! They’ll be right there, don’t you move!”
    • When it’s (maybe) time for some holiday cheer: Listen Here
“OooooOoOoo!! Look who it is! Are you stopping by for a bit festive cheer? Ya WHATEVER. Yuck. Unfortunately, there is plenty of cheer to go around, but now you can have my portion! They’ll be there in a bit. Enjoy!”
    • When you’re busy preparing a holiday feast: Listen Here
“Okay, hello? Hi. (Coughing) Seems like there’s a bit of a SnAFuuuUuuUU with the Roast Beast in there. Wooo that is stinging my eyes! (Sniffs) TOO MUCH WHO-SAUCE! Sorry, please leave a message.”
    • When you can’t (or won’t) step outside to say hello: Listen Here
“Hello, It’s the Grinch-what do you want? No! Don’t answer that. Instead, please leave a message after the weird sound I’m about to make: (Makes sound) OOOEEOWWUUNNGG.”
    • When you’re busy wrapping gifts: Listen Here
“(Horrified) Oh my… Oh my word… there’s just so much paper, and tape, and bows and smiling. So much laughter! I’ve gotta get out of here! Leave them a message!”

It’s quick and easy to add Quick Replies to your Ring Video Doorbell from the Ring App. Then, when a visitor stops by and presses the doorbell, they will hear the selected response and can leave a message.

You can then watch video of visitors’ reactions live, or if you’re are a Ring Protect subscriber, can play back the video later.

‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast is the second series to be announced under a collaboration between podcast studio Wondery and Dr. Seuss Enterprises. The first series, The Cat in the Hat Cast, is a “fantastical variety show-style podcast series hosted by everyone’s favorite red and white hat-wearing Cat.” Both ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast and The Cat in the Hat Cast are part of Wondery Kids & Family’s roster of family programming.

Not gonna lie. I love this!
