You may have been checking out your Spotify wrapped to be horrified just how many times you listened to the Excavator song in the car to keep your toddler happy. Well YouTube has their version, YouTube recap.
This means you can see just how much time you spent watching Blippy. I mean you were totally watching him, and not running it on the TV so you had some peace and quiet while you cooked dinner…. My examples might be very specific to parents….
Anyway, this is how to check out your YouTube Recap:
Maybe 2025 was your custom keyboard era, or when you became KATSEYE’s biggest fan, or watched a ton of Labubu blind box reveals. More likely though, it’s a mix of all of the above! So, because many of you asked for it, YouTube has announced the first ever YouTube Recap.
Close out the year in style
Your Recap can be found right on the homepage, or under the “You” tab, accessible on mobile devices and desktop.
YouTube Recap uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year, based on your watch history. You’ll get a set of up to 12 different cards that spotlight your top channels, interests, and even the evolution of your viewing habits, or which personality type you fall into based on the videos you loved to watch!
If you listened to a lot of music this year, you’ll also see Top Artists and Songs of the year as part of Recap, with the option to dive deeper into top genres, podcasts, and even a snapshot of your international music listening over on the YouTube Music app.
Putting the ‘You’ in YouTube
Recap was made for you, by you. This is reflected throughout the creation of this feature, with nine rounds of feedback and over 50 different concept testings before YouTube land on what you see today. After digging into how we all watch YouTube, YouTube didn’t just see data — YouTube saw personalities, from the Adventurer or Skill Builder, to the Creative Spirit, and so many more. And here’s a fun discovery: the most common personalities were the Sunshiner, the Wonder Seeker, and the Connector, with the Philosopher and the Dreamer ending up as the more elusive and rare personas.
Are you ready for a trip down memory lane? Revisit your favorite interests, discoveries, and moments with your Recap. And don’t forget to save and share your memories with friends!
