Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is now available, bringing a remastered version of one of Nihon Falcom’s classic action RPGs to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana originally came out for PC in 2005, as a complete remake of 1989’s Ys III: Wanderers from Ys. The original Ys III was something of an outlier in the series, taking a side-scrolling platformer approach inspired by Zelda II: The Adventure of Link; The Oath in Felghana reimagined it as a more typical action RPG, along with an expanded story and a 3D graphical overhaul.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana brings that 2005 remake to modern platforms with a range of other enhancements, including refined visuals, high-quality audio, new English and Japanese voice acting for the the main character (who was silent in previous releases), and quality-of-life improvements like a turbo mode.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is available digitally from the Nintendo eShop (NZD $49.95) and PlayStation Store (NZD $54.95). A physical release is due later this month.
