This review is difficult. Not because the HP Smart Tank 7305 printer is bad; completely the opposite actually, it’s the best home printer I’ve ever used. No, it’s tricky because I fundamentally don’t think the modern Kiwi needs a home printer beyond some niche use cases, and I find it hard to recommend superfluous things. But the printer is great. Let’s find out why (I already know, though). Printers Gonna Print Technically, the HP Smart Tank 7305 printer is indeed a printer. Grey and beige box, got a scanny bit, some foldy flaps, and a bit to put paper in.…

By Sithis, Starfield sure is a thing. Nah it’ll be fine, it’s a Bethesda game right? I mean, right out the gate you’re having fun; after character design, you’re immediately attacked by a dragon and need to run to shelter with either Hadvar, an Imperial soldier, or Ralof the Stormcloak rebel… Sorry, force of habit; I’m still surprised Bethesda have made a new game and not just released Skyrim again. But also, I feel like Bethesda still think they have a unique proposition, and I don’t really know why. I liked No Man’s Sky and The Outer Worlds too We…

How many writers does it take to review a lightbulb? One. Obviously, just one. C’mon, guys, get with it. The Nanoleaf Strip, an oddly sexily named bit of tech, is a smart lightstrip. That’s, uh, kind of it. That’s what it is. Wow, I’m so efficient. LED the way Something neat is the circadian setting, which alternates the brightness and colour of light based on the time of day. Artificial sunrise alarm clocks are neat, and that’s been my main use case. There’s an adhesive strip running the length of the Strip as well, meaning you can glue it to…

Remember Bioshock? Well take out all the philosophy and nuance, replace splicers with androids, and hire an edgy misogynistic 14-year-old to write superfluous dialogue, all while a copy of The Communist Manifesto sits unopened on a table nearby. Privet, Atomic Heart. Kak dela? Communism is so Len-in right now Let’s start nice, shall we? Visually Atomic Heart is fine. It’s not pushing the envelope graphically in any way, but it looks exactly as you would expect this tribute to the Shock games to look in 2022. It’s nice, it’s functional, and frankly that’s a win these days. Elevators, flights, and…

Possibly trying to gamify the real time collapse of the real life global ecosystem is a bit optimistic. But damned if I didn’t have a good time with Terra Nil.

There’s a party on my desk and no one else is invited. The G915 is all the fun and tactile bliss of a mechanical keyboard, without deafening everyone in a quarter-kilometre radius. Thank Logitech G for those sweet MX Brown switches; while on paper sounding way worse and a little gross, in action they’re the perfect mix of feedback and relative quiet. Ideal for long-term typing in an open plan office, or quietly beavering away on tech reviews while binge-watching Saved By The Bell on the couch. https://youtu.be/_DDcMZ1-OAM Speaking of, this thing is portable as all hell. Weighing almost nothing…
