Customer-focused Social Media misfit. A Jack of all Trades and unrestrained Culture Demon

A few months ago, Yeah Nah Gaming were graciously invited along to see the new range of Panasonic TV’s. The second moment of grace being that I’m the only member currently located in Tamaki Makaurau. As I discussed with the team the event details and read over some of the kit we’d been sent, I reflected on my own history with television sets and their respective brands. And during one of those ownership periods I was a happy owner of a Panasonic TV. I’m not sure what made me buy it. It may have been the new apartment I’d moved…

It is the grimdark future. Chaos is everywhere. And the Emperor demands order. The Imperium of Man sends out elite soldiers, tasking the Space Marines with these demands. The loftiest of which fall at the feet of one Lieutenant Demetrian Titus; Hero of 2011’s Space Marine. After serving penance with the Deathwatch, they return to the Ultramarines and uncover plans that even the best Psyker couldn’t anticipate. Or at least that’s what I understood. The latest title from Saber Interactive is a beautiful monstrosity of the grimdark world of 40K. Shepherding players into the boots of Titus, you’ll team up…

It’s that time in the lifecycle. As is the iterative nature of modern day technology, the PlayStation 5 console has reached its next evolution. Though that’s marketing speak. It has simply procured newer, more better, technology to use in the latter half of its life. Such are the results of the console war in its current arc. So we, the gamer, have to ask: If this is the best that games can look, then what can we improve upon? Of course this is all based off an announcement from Sony on social media. “Tune in tomorrow for a PlayStation 5…

It’s been somewhere over 12 hours. It’s been somewhere over 12 hours and I still haven’t had to charge the JBL Live 670NC headphones. As I naturally finished my recent set at the gym, I sat there thinking “I haven’t even charged these things”. And much like the rest of my experience with them, it’s been nothing but an incredibly easy and brilliant interaction in the age of the internet of things. And IOT was on display from my first interaction with them. When I connected the 670NC headphones to my mobile, they instantly triggered my Google account to register…

Confidence. ‘Confidence’ comes to mind after attending HP’s collaborative event with Intel for their ‘Unleashing the power of AI’ in Sydney. It also just as quickly latches onto bold. While this shares traits of confidence, it demands as much courage as they had for their presentation. While it was an event launching their next range of HP notebooks and workstations, it was also a bold statement. Much like the one which shone on the screen behind Rachel Williams, Head of Personal Systems for HP Australia and New Zealand. “A new era of growth and innovation.” The concept of AI, or…

The timing is impeccable. Bethesda Game Studios announced today that Fallout 4, after 10 years on the shelf, is getting a next-gen update for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The most interesting facet being that this very update was announced almost 2 years ago in October of 2022. Which was when the Fallout franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary. The article stated at the time to “prepare for the future! A next-gen update is coming to Fallout 4! Coming in 2023, this free update will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC systems, including performance…

Damn, that’s a saucy and referential heading for something Fallout related. The popular Bethesda game is finally heading to Prime Video this week. And some lucky vault dwellers were invited by Prime Video AUNZ to watch the premiere of the new series! Their lack of luck though means they have to hold their thoughts until Thursday when the show debuts. https://twitter.com/TheHolyEmperor1/status/1777277515201233335 But this unlucky wastelander is able to sneak around it as I was in the barrens like everyone else. Awaiting the doomsday clock to tick past midnight on the 11th of April 2024, so I could finally dig my…

Wow, my first PC review. You’re very lucky Pepper Grinder. I also want to quickly point out how genius that title is. Because Pepper is the character and the Grinder is the tool. Or weapon. Or both? Well it sure can do a lot. But anyway, I just like that Pepper Grinder embraces the “IT’S RIGHT THERE IN THE TITLE” mentality. While reviews will no doubt throw around “retro” and throwback” based on the stylings and gameplay of Pepper Grinder. For me, it follows a trend of smaller studios bringing back and innovating on a time a lot of gamers…

I’ll begin this Skull and Bones review with two phrases. 101 hours. And the quote “I considered deleting it from my console”. Starting development in 2013, Skull and Bones began consideration as a spin-off to the successful Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. While development continued, the initial technology became “outdated”. Therefore it became an independent project which sat in Davey Jones’ locker for the same amount of time it took to make 4 Pirates of the Caribbean films. So what does a game that should bear so much treasure look like? Eh. I can admit there’s a good game in here…

I jumped into my Mighty Ape orders because I wanted to check something. What I found was “24th of January, 2017 at 9:31AM”. It’s the date I received the PlayStation 4 Platinum 7.1 wireless gaming headset. This period was before I really attempted any sort of content or media so no review ever came from it. But I loved them. Boy did I love them. I felt they were my first foray into really hearing the game at its best. And they were good until the ear pads gave way. No doubt caused by my unrelenting ability to sweat both…
