It feels odd to leave out ‘remaster’ or ‘remake’ from the title. Not because it’s wrong, but because this puts the very release of Red Dead Redemption in an odd place. The year is 2010. Rockstar Games have just released a new title 2 years after their last Grand Theft Auto game. Taking it back to the days of the Old West, Red Dead Redemption was based off the very muddied release of the former Capcom title, Red Dead Revolver. Telling the story of the former outlaw John Marston, the game went on to sweep the industry with its incredible…

Do you remember the first time you played Tekken? For me, it was at an old arcade. I say it with no discernable name, because at the time my small rural town I grew up in somehow had 2 whole arcades and a variety of dairies and video stores housing cabinets. It could have also been the pseudo-gas station-cum-fish and chip shop which had them hiding off to the side. I know that’s where my first taste of Art Of Fighting was at least. But I do know where my first playthrough at home was. It was at a friends…

I have to say I’ve surprised myself. Somehow I didn’t start my time with Insomniac Design Director, Josue Benavidez, by yelling “BRING ME PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!”. While the Spider-Verse is filled with memetic material, it felt like a disservice to not only the history of Spider-Man, but to Josue and their time at Insomniac Games. The first thing I wanted to cover was how to pronounce their name. “It’s just Josue. It’s kind of like Jose, but with a little more sway in it”. A bombastic intro to start off our conversation on all things Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Having started…
