A few months ago, Yeah Nah Gaming were graciously invited along to see the new range of Panasonic TV’s. The second moment of grace being that I’m the only member currently located in Tamaki Makaurau. As I discussed with the team the event details and read over some of the kit we’d been sent, I reflected on my own history with television sets and their respective brands. And during one of those ownership periods I was a happy owner of a Panasonic TV.
I’m not sure what made me buy it. It may have been the new apartment I’d moved into at the time. The price of the television I wanted and the specs I was after. And then there was brand trust. Just something at the time said “yeah, a Panasonic will be good I think”. I also think my sister and her partner at the time had one and I had liked it enough. And I think this statement is fitting of Panasonic’s success in New Zealand. Its fitting enough. And more fitting of our article title, it reminded me of another company who finds similar ground to simply fit in:
Nintendo.
Yes. Did I just compare Panasonic to Nintendo? I sure did. They’ve both found a way to fit into an industry which has super-brands at war with one another while they’ve just done their own thing and continued to find success through this non-intervention. And because of this, Panasonic has managed to introduce their best range of TV’s yet.
They displayed the range they’ve developed for consumers. The Z85 represents their entry level television for this new OLED range, with the Z95 acting as the flagship for the series. The Z93 is the cinema scale television, representing their world class cinematic experience thanks to their tight work with the industry, their use of Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode which uses intelligent sensing technology to adjust colour temperature and ambient brightness to ensure every movie is faithful to the director’s vision.
This is also paired with the amazing HCX Pro AI Processor MK II which delivers truly accurate colour, contrast, and pin-sharp clarity – great for fast-moving action, sports, games and more. And yes, because AI is everywhere, it utilises AI neural networks to analyse the incoming signal and picture content. Because what these TV’s want to do most is make it as easy as possible for the consumer.
Another way Panasonic get around this, is their partnership with Amazon and Fire TV. The likes of Sony utilise Google TV, while Samsung has built Tizen for their smart TV experience. But with Amazon Fire TV, Panasonic gets right to the good stuff. It puts your favourite apps front and centre on one main home screen. So you can quickly find shows, movies, and live TV you love without the endless scrolling. And with recommendations which appear as you build up your viewing experience, means scrolling will become a thing of the past as things you have watched, or want to watch, will be front and center. You’d also be smart to also associate Amazon with one other product of theirs.
Alexa.
That’s right, you can utilise Alexa to further refine your viewing experience with Panasonic. From activating ambient room modes with other IOT technology, to simply asking them to change the channel, Alexa is there to help. It’ll also integrate your Ring device into the television, so you don’t have to leave the couch right away to see who’s at the door! It’s really never been easier to have a true hands-free TV experience.
From incredible colors, great screen size and viewing range to fit all lounges, and a solid audio experience, Panasonic have delivered a great series for movie buffs to pick up. From around $2100 for the Z85, through to $4400 for the Z95, they offer competitive prices to pull any one away from the brand loyalty they may have to others.
Because hey, it’s almost a new year. So new year, new you. And why not start with the brand that sits there waiting ever so diligently to support you and your best viewing practice.
