It’s that time of the year again, and while Black Friday may not be a thing in Aotearoa, Black Friday sales have become one. Ignoring the hype, it can be a great way to buy X-Mas presents for your whānau, so here is our 2025 Black Friday guide based on some of the things we have tested out and recommend.
Keep in mind that during Black Friday we quite often buy stuff we don’t actually need. But stick to what you want and gifts, and it can be a great time to save!

Well DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles got strong scores recently. These would be a great watch for JRPG fans.
For fans of other genres, how about some Battlefield 6 or some Hades II?

Magic: The Gathering
We have been checking out, and loving, a lot of the Magic: The Gathering sets! If you can get a good price on a Bundle then that would make any Magic fan happy.
We do recommend the Avatar Bundle, Avatar Commander Bundle, and even the Spidey Bundles!
Lorcana
Disney TCG fans rejoice. This game keeps going from stength to sttrength and I keep having fun playing this game. An Elsa Gift Set or a Treasure Trove gives heaps of fun ripping packs!
Riftbound
If your whānau likes TCG and League of Legends but haven’t checked this out, then a Champions deck is a reasonably priced and easy way to get into the game. And if you don’t like LoL, it’s still a damn fun game!
