Want to try out Koei Tecmo’s fantasy hunting RPG Wild Hearts S ahead of its launch later this month? Well, a new demo released on Switch 2 today means you can do just that.
Wild Hearts S is the Switch 2 version of Wild Hearts, a hunting RPG (think Monster Hunter) that came out on other platforms in 2023. As a hunter in a world full of dangerous beasts, use materials from your hunts to craft new, more powerful weapons and equipment so that you can take on more dangerous targets, in order to get better materials for even more powerful gear, and so on. Wild Hearts‘ point of difference is the ability for players to assemble Karakuri (mechanical structures and automatons utilising ancient technology) to shape the hunting ground, and its fantasy setting inspired by feudal Japan.
The demo lets players try out the first few stages of the Wild Hearts S, from the prologue through to entering the town of Minato. That covers a few different hunts: the Ragetail, the Sapscourge, and the powerful Kingtusk—a giant boar with tree trunk-like teeth. The demo supports both singleplayer and co-up for up to four players, and progress will carry over to the full game.
Wild Hearts S launches on July 25, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. The original game, Wild Hearts, is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
