After checking out the JBL Quantum 810 Wireless headset I was a bit giddy. It had its minor faults but on the whole it was pretty damn impressive. Well this time I have the chance to check out the JBL Quantum 910 Wireless Headset to see if it is worth the extra $150. Well an extra $150 if you are comparing the two devices. It’s an extra $549 if you bought the 810 already and are looking to upgrade to the 910. But I am rambling about semantics. Time to talk about the headset. Comfort https://youtu.be/_m9J4FElGx8 As with the 810,…

When I checked out the Ring Battery Video Doorbell 4 I was one happy chappy. The ease of setup, installation, and access on your phone made this a slam dunk in my house. Well now the Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus is out, with promises of more battery and more vision; from one angle anyway. Installation, setup, etc. This is exactly the same as with the Ring Battery Video Doorbell 4. So if you are looking to understand that process, then check out my review here. I won’t bore you repeating myself, but in short, it’s fast, easy, and versatile.…

Let’s be honest: the Horizon series is one of PlayStation’s hottest IPs. The first two games are fantastic, with interesting characters and a much more interesting world. So when it comes to an IP that is a perfect fit for PSVR2, Horizon Call of the Mountain had me eager from the outset. This game doesn’t disappoint… unless you want heaps of Aloy. The mountain is calling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxvsl34f_HM You take on the role of a Shadow Carja called Ryas, who has been a naughty boy. He was caught by the Carja and brought to the settlement, Dawns Grasp. Here he is…

LUSH has done a promotional line with Super Mario Bros. to celebrate the upcoming movie. I got the chance to take some of these products for a spin, and I must say, they are well worth a look. Question Block: 2 in 1 Bath Bomb One of the stars of the whole campaign are the Question Block bath bombs. These are big bath bombs that will change your bath a random colour that lines up with something you find in the games. Inside the bath bomb is a bar of soap that is shaped to fit that item. So, for…

Last year, when I checked out the Galaxy S22 Ultra, there were quite a lot of things I liked about it. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn’t break the mould too much, so rather than retyping what I wrote last year, I will focus on what has changed. Like the S22 Ultra in more ways than one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH7csS3SCIA If you have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, then this phone will feel familiar. It has the same black, rectangular shape that I liked. It isn’t the easiest to use with one hand without a popsocket or something to slip your fingers…

Man, I miss Guitar Hero. That crappy plastic guitar brought me so much joy over the years so when I saw Unplugged – Air Guitar was offering something similar in VR I was immediately down, and for the most part it met my pretty high expectations. https://youtu.be/g-O0kE4qX88 Unplugged – Air Guitar kicks off with Satchel from Steel Panther ragging on you a bit. Cheese like ripping on nerds and rocking out are pretty heavy in the intro and sets a certain tone. That tone, like Steel Panther’s music, is cheesy as hell, and fun if you are in the mood…

When I played the first Moss game I was entranced. For all intents and purposes it was a solid platformer that looked beautiful in a realized VR world. This wouldn’t be enough, except the narrative and Quill engaged you enough to add an emotional layer so damn unique to VR. Moss: Book II takes that formula, adds a few things, but sticks to what worked the first time. https://youtu.be/x8HvWj2sMeY If you are new to the series you can absolutely pick up Book II and run with it. I would highly recommend you start with the first game because it is…

Man, when we have a new Action RPG game that comes out of the woodwork, I am always curious. Will this be the start of a new overdone franchise? How will they cram in the inevitable live service stuff? I know, I am cynical. The good news is that while Forspoken has its flaws, in many ways, it ticks the boxes I want to see more games try. Yeah Nah, the story has it’s moments https://youtu.be/7-5Fa5meEo4 Forspoken begins on Earth with our heroine Frey as she deals with a court date. We get just enough time on Earth here to…

When it comes to webcams, the options are insane. The number of companies making them and the number of options from each can be confusing at best. Well EPOS wants to make this choice easier for those who are running meetings on the move with the new EPOS EXPAND Vision 1. Office meetings on the go https://youtu.be/ltLCT_9FI7s The on-the go aspect of this is pretty incredible. The whole unit is ever so slightly bigger than the smallest USB camera I have. With a clip that folds out, you can mount it onto any monitor, TV, or anything really, no matter…

Ring has become pretty synonymous with smart doorbells. Mostly it’s because they make some excellent devices that make receiving packages and guests much easier and record couriers doing naughty shenanigans for TikTok. There was also the fun scandal with Amazon handing over access to the police in the states, which I can’t see evidence of being an issue in NZ… yet. But either way, they are the market leader here. I got to take the Ring Video Doorbell 4 for a spin to see if you should smarten up your front door. Installation https://youtu.be/yXtOi88TlQs Setting up the Ring Video Doorbell…
