Sony Interactive Entertainment is pleased to share a new collaboration with their Sony Pictures Entertainment to bring the Sony Pictures Core app to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles.

Formerly known as Bravia Core, PlayStation players will be able to buy and rent up to 2,000 movies on PS5 and PS4 consoles. Players can also purchase select Sony Picture films during an exclusive, early access window straight from their console. PlayStation Plus Deluxe members will also get access to a curated catalog of 100 movies through the app to stream on demand from the Sony Picture library as part of their membership.

At launch, the service included blockbuster hits such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Uncharted, The Equalizer, No Hard Feelings and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, among others.

Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story was also available through Sony Pictures Core in the U.S, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand markets. With the purchase of this movie through Sony Pictures Core, players also received credits toward in-game purchases in GT7, including cars which featured in the movie. The film was also IMAX Enhanced, delivering an elevated viewing experience with signature picture quality on the PS5 and PS4 right in players living rooms.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment share a goal of bringing together this curated collection of wonderful films to elevate the PlayStation experience. This is just the beginning, and they plan to evolve the offerings and benefits of the service over time – including a selection of hit anime content from Crunchyroll.

You can download the Sony Pictures Core app from your Media app library on your PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles now.
