Final Fantasy has been my favorite game series since I got Final Fantasy 8 Platinum on PS1 many, many years ago. The four discs of goodness consumed hundreds of hours of my time before I went back and played 7, followed by playing every game since. I LOVE this game series. So you pair this with my latest obsession for the last year and a half, Magic: The Gathering, and surely you have a set that I will be obsessed with, right? Well not necessarily, it still has to be awesome as if it sucks, I will be mad as…

I live in earbuds, using them to and from work, when I do chores around the house, everything. I mean, how else can you do the dishes without a podcast? I don’t even know! I regularly use JBL earbuds as I love them, but the high-end ones are pricey. So I got the chance to take the much cheaper JBL Wave Beam 2 for a spin to see if they are worth it for people that are looking for jams on the go at a lower price. What do they do well? Looking at style, there is nothing cheap looking…
The debut game from Myrkur Games, Echoes of the End, has been announced. It will release later this year on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement trailer shows an intriguing world that looks to be worth keeping an eye on: https://youtu.be/041oJNzK2qA Echoes of the End follows Ryn, a powerful vestige born with volatile magical abilities, as she sets out to rescue her brother from a brutal empire on the brink of war. Alongside haunted scholar Abram Finlay, she must uncover a conspiracy that could reignite an ancient conflict and plunge the world of Aema into chaos. Driven by themes…
Sometimes remastered games can be the hardest games to review. When a game was being upscaled from PS1 to PS3, it was a lot easier as that period of time saw massive advancement in games both graphically and gameplay wise. But when you take a game from the late PS4 life and remaster it for PS5, the changes aren’t quite as stark. Still, I gave it a go with the newest PS5 remaster, Days Gone Remastered, jamming it on a PS5 Pro. https://youtu.be/RjRLSZalxgs If you haven’t played Days Gone before, it tells the story of the ex-bikie Deacon in Oregon…
I have been loving Lorcana since it came Down Under to Aotearoa and Australia. The simplified gameplay has been getting more complex, but for the last couple of sets there wasn’t a lot of innovation. Don’t get me wrong, they were loaded with fun characters, art, and cards, but I wanted to see something new. Well, Archazia’s Island has brought heaps of new things. What is Jafar doing Reigning? Our heroes have been doing their thing on Archazia’s Island, which is all well and good, except Jafar has taken our distraction to get up to some shenanigans. He has managed…
There are heaps of Bluetooth speakers available these days, from tiny little speakers that fit in your pocket to big beasts designed for massive meeting rooms. So how do you choose which one to get? Well, the biggest question is, what do you need it for? Well, if you want to be able to enjoy some sounds on the go, from a barbeque to the beach to camping, the JBL Flip 7 is making a solid argument that it should be on the top of your list. It’s bouncy! https://youtu.be/byyCZd0EWnI OK, well, not bouncy as such, but it’s drop-proof for…
There are so many gaming headsets to choose from these days. From a cheapie at under $100 to elite headsets at around $900, you can spend as much money as you want. Well, at $330, the new Logitech G522, Lightspeed Wireless Gaming does ask some serious questions on why you would spend more than that. There are a few things that I look for in a headset to make it top tier. These are comfort, battery life, and sound quality. Playing with the G522 I have to say it’s ticking all those boxes. Comfort and style! The headset uses some…
We have had many excellent Indiana Jones games over the years. From the Tomb Raider series to the Uncharted series, they all oozed Indiana Jones excellence. Well, now we have an actual Indiana Jones game, and I was expecting more of these style games. Instead I was given a first-person adventure game, and I was pleasantly delighted. https://youtu.be/sq97d1RkdRM Indiana Jones is living his usual life as an archaeologist in the 30s. This is thrown into disarray when a big, terrifying man called Locus breaks in and steals a cat mummy. Indiana follows clues that take him to the Vatican, and…
After the insane success of Skyrim, and its port to what feels like 60 platforms, people have been chomping at the bit for Elder Scrolls VI. Well, Elder Scrolls has its new release, and while it isn’t Elder Scrolls VI, it also isn’t the 61st release of Skyrim. Instead it’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which is the remaster I had no idea I was needing. Straight out of the gate, I am going to say this is the best example of a remaster I have ever seen. The graphical overhaul here is insane, but it is much more…
Having been into MTG for a year and a half, I don’t have the long history people have. With the gimmicky sets, these have been normal for Magic for me, but when Bloomburrow dropped, I quickly discovered the brilliance that is Magic originality. Well, Tarkir is many people’s favourite plane, and having played with the set now, I understand why! Bring on Tarkir: Dragonstorm! So what is Tarkir, and what is a dragonstorm? https://youtu.be/WS19FrasbS0 At the end of the Aetherdrift story, we discovered a dragonstorm had occurred on Avishkar, where dragons come out of the sky. Elspeth has now followed…
